Thank you. Have you tuned this instrument to any of the tunings of Mozart’s period? It sounds so different than the modern piano that it is hard to tell if you have or if this is equal temperament. The short piece you played didn’t afford much opportunity to really listen for variation in intervals. If you have not tuned this instrument in any of the many published tunings of that period, I believe you would be very pleased with the result in doing so.
It sounds to me as if the piano is indeed tuned to a historical (unequal) temperament.
As an engineer and appreciator of music (not a musician of any sort) the difference in mechanicals of the period versus modern instruments was enlightening. The audiences, then versus now, must also be a difficult to quantify variable in the music-musician-instrument-audience complex.
