About Daniel Webster

Daniel Webster (1782-1852) represented New Hampshire and Massachusetts in the United States Congress and served as the U.S. Secretary of State under Presidents William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, and Millard Fillmore. He was a well-known lawyer and orator, remembered for his support of the Compromise of 1850 and of the federal government during the Nullification Crisis.
